San José Fire Department is recruiting for the position of:

Senior Public Safety Dispatcher

The San José Fire Department Communications Center is responsible for processing emergency calls for fire and medical emergencies, dispatching fire department and other City resources, maintaining adequate city-wide coverage, and assisting Incident Commanders with the management of emergency events.

The Senior PSD operates in a supervisory capacity over a segment of the dispatching operation on a shift or in a specialized assignment.  The Senior PSD also performs all duties of the Public Safety Communication Specialist and Public Safety Radio Dispatcher positions.

The Senior PSD salary range is $131,354.22- $159,836.59 annually, which includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay and a (3.75%) Public Safety Radio Dispatcher Certification Pay.  A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.
